FRED BONIS (BOX OFFICE TREASURER) You see me at the box-office window, smiling out from behind bullet-resistant glass, assuring the public swift access to tickets for many a Lincoln Center Theater show, but I'm dreaming of sailing to a faraway place with the family or checking out new golf courses around the world.
MIKE BRUNNER (PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER) To get out from underground-the subways, the basements, the dark rehearsal halls, and the calling booth behind glass at the back of the tehater, where I run the show-to walk along the beach with my wife and daughter in search of sea glass, which we have collected for years and keep in a jar on the fireplace mantel.
DANNY BURSTEIN (LUTHER BILLIS) As an actor, my schedule can be quite hectic. My days are spent running around to auditions, rehearsals, bookings, and then to the theater at night. Sadly, my busiest times are when my sons are off from school. So my answer is simple: family. They are my island. Spending time with my sons, Alex and Zach, and my wife, Rebecca, is truly my idea of heaven on earth.
OFFICER DOUGLAS CHARLES(VBT SECURITY) You see me standing in the lobby, head and shoulders above everyone else, watching and ready to help. I see myself as a servant of the public, and I never forget that I am one of them. In my head, I'm dreaming of playing soccer-as I did for mnany years in my country, Guyana.
CINDY DEMAND(HAIR SUPERVISOR) I'm in the wig room backstage every night at 5, styling the wigs for the night's performance, waiting for the actors to arrive at 7:30. My bali Ha'i is a haiku: My green cabin in the woods/offsets mid-town Manhattan/Equal parts: Japanese minka/Cheyenne tipi/Shaker barn/and Peter Pan's tree house/It's all I've ever wanted.
RHEBA FLEGELMAN (HOUSE MANAGER) As the house manager of this theater, I am too often involved with the tedium of tickets and toilet paper and their astonishingly important role in the theater experience. Yet I am ever mindful that it is these elements that brought me to the attention of the love of my life, with whom I share many great adventures that are never tedious-trekking Hawaiian volcanoes, cooking class in Siciliy, fixing our dishwasher...Who could ask for anything more?
DAVID LA) MUSIC SUPERVISOR) I live on the New York subways, using my monthly MetroCard to travel between playing rehearsals, working on recordings, putting orchestras together, and waving a baton in the pit of Phantom most nights. My secret ambition is to own and operate my own bowling alley in Kauai.
LI JUN LI (LIAT) I have been blessed with amny things-good health, a wonderful family with two beautiful, loving (and slightly spoiled dogs. My dream, however, is to live in a world where no animals are forced to suffer needlessly, but where they are treated as equals with freedom and choice to live a full and natural life.
